Bradford Sweet is from Relay, Maryland. Creating objects has always been a great joy for this sculptor. Whether it was a mud pie or a sand creature, it really did not matter. At fourteen years old a love for birdhouses was found. A lack of money and a recycling bin became inspiration for Bradford to make a birdhouse for his Mom on Mother's day! The bird dwelling was covered in buttons and Popsicle sticks, hence its name "The Button Shop." It was not long until his Mom's friends wanted one of their own and soon he was awarded Youth Entrepreneur of Maryland in 1999. Towson University was the next venture. There Bradford’s artistic ability could not be held back and he enrolled as a sculpture major. Weekends and school breaks were peak opportunities to sculpt birdhouses. Before long graduation day came and he can remember his parents asking "...So what are you going to do now?" He could only reply with"...I'm going to build birdhouses!"
